ABOUT US:

The Lotus Flower is a non-governmental organization which empowers vulnerable women and girls so that they are safe, have opportunities to learn, the tools to become financially independent and the freedom to lead change. We provide safe social spaces inside refugee camps and implement projects to help them rebuild their lives and earn a living. We run four women’s centers for the IDP, refugee and host community in Kurdistan

Our centers implement much-needed livelihood training, language courses, computer training, mental health support, fitness and health training, and awareness sessions and advocacy on women's rights and gender-based violence. 

We aim to provide the foundation for women to rebuild themselves, their families, and their futures. As local implementers, we work at the grassroots level to get right into the heart of communities, listening to local needs and employing local women to implement the programs. Our fundamental belief is that women and girls are powerful drivers of change, and we provide the support they need to reach their full potential and rebuild their futures. 

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Stress Management Trainer will provide information about the different levels of stress that may affect wellbeing and possibly lead to chronic burn-out and health problems. The trainer will teach recognition of physical, emotional and mental symptoms that show personal levels of stress, plus strategies and exercises to deal with stressful situations and counteract unhealthy coping mechanisms and share work-related situations that cause stress.  

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

·       Develop a clear agenda and curriculum for the 2-day stress management training.

·       Select appropriate stress management techniques and materials to cover in the limited timeframe.

·       Incorporate hands-on activities and exercises to allow participants to practice stress-reduction techniques.

·       Offer guidance and feedback during practical session.

·       Address participant questions and concerns related to stress management.

·       Provide clarification and further information as needed.

·       Offer encouragement and emotional support to participants as they engage in the stress management training.

·       Create a safe space for sharing and discussion.

·       Provide participants with relevant resources, handouts, or materials to reinforce learning.

·       Evaluate the effectiveness of the 2-day training through participant feedback and assessments.

·       Provide 2 days training for the Lotus Flower Child protection staff in Erbil, using the Kurdish language Badini accent and Arabic language as an asset.

QUALIFICATIONS & PREFERRED SKILLS:

·       A minimum Bachelor degree in psychology, or other related field of studies.

·       At least 2 years’ experience in providing training sessions.

·       Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; strongly diplomatic and capable of leading difficult mediation and negotiations.

·       Very creative, proactive, positive and flexible.

·       Very high mobility required.

·       Strongly motivated by humanitarian work.
