The Lotus Flower is a non-governmental organization that empowers vulnerable women and girls so that they are safe, and have opportunities to learn, the tools to become financially independent, and the freedom to lead change. We provide safe social spaces inside refugee camps and implement projects to help them rebuild their lives and earn a living. We run four women’s centers for the IDP, refugee, and host communities in Kurdistan

As local implementers, we work at the grassroots level to get right into the heart of communities, listening to local needs and employing local women to implement the programs. About the role:
The Sport and Theater Instructor will work closely with the Center Manager to ensure the quality and effective implementation of Child Protection Programming.
The Sport and Theater Instructor will be facilitating the PSS activity for children and youths from ages 5 to 17 in Gawilan Child Friendly Space.
The Instructor will have strong coordination with child protection actors and other service providers, build strong relationships with the community members and assess the psychosocial needs of beneficiaries.
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Plan and organize daily Sport and Theater activity sessions for both children (from 5 to 12 years old) and youth (from 13 to 17 years old).
-Facilitate & provide Sport and Theater sessions on a daily basis.
-Monitor the improvement of the children and youths in recreational sessions, knowledge & skills.
-Provide help and support for other CP and TLF colleagues for the good implementation of the schedule of sessions
-Proactively promote the participation of children with disabilities, and marginalized children in project activities.
-Ensure that all toys and theater equipment are safely stored when not in use by children and youths.
-Perform other tasks & functions depending on the required needs and the best interest of children/youth.
-Submit the monthly report and data to the center manager
-Ensure the collection of data for the activity’s accuracy.
Qualifications:
-Excellent experience in Sport and Theater
-Good understanding of child protection
-Confident communicator, with very good coordination and communication skills
-Able to work under pressure
-Works well in teamwork, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible, and able to handle pressure well
-Good Computer skills: MS Word and Excel
-Fluency in Arabic, Kurdish “Kurmanji”
