About Us:

The Lotus Flower is a non-governmental organization which empowers vulnerable women and girls so that they are safe, have opportunities to learn, the tools to become financially independent and the freedom to lead change. We provide safe social spaces inside refugee camps and implement projects to help them rebuild their lives and earn a living. We run four women’s centers for the IDP, refugee and host community in Kurdistan

Our centers implement much-needed livelihood training, language courses, computer training, mental health support, fitness and health training, and awareness sessions and advocacy on women's rights and gender-based violence. 

We aim to provide the foundation for women to rebuild themselves, their families, and their futures. As local implementers, we work at the grassroots level to get right into the heart of communities, listening to local needs and employing local women to implement the programs. Our fundamental belief is that women and girls are powerful drivers of change, and we provide the support they need to reach their full potential and rebuild their futures. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

·       Identify individual cases, assess protection risks and formulate case plans.

·       Ensure regular follow up and support to women, Girls and families through home visits, provision of psychosocial support, referrals, coordination and access to services.

·       Provide information and advice on existing social services and how to access them.

·       Work as a member of a team ensuring fluid communication of relevant information in order to make sure that a proper management of the case is preserved.

·       Work in close collaboration with the community mobilizers to strengthen our relationship with the community and to strengthen the referral system.

·       Facilitate, collect and report information regarding the overall situation of women and girls risks, with particular attention on vulnerable/at-risk women and girls.

·       Submit reports weekly, concerning implemented outreach activities and cases and participate in weekly case conferences.

·       Ensure that all services and action points listed in the case plan are carried out within agreed time frames. Ensure that progress is regularly reviewed.

·       Maintain files, registers, computer databases and records in paper or electronic format based on principle of confidentiality.

·       Keep proper records of field expenditures when appropriate and report on these to the Project manager.

·       Develop ideas and participate in undertaking different women and girls protection campaigns in the area of implementation .

·       Referral with service providers, external partners .

·       Coordinate with other organizations/agencies and make referrals to specialized services.

·       Establish continuing rapport/trust building and interaction with the community and the social environment of vulnerable women and girls for their protection, care, and development.

·       Implement all The Lotus Flower activities required.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills:

·       University degree and at least one year relevant area work experience.

·       Strong English as well as strong / Arabic and Kurdish skills, written and spoken.

·       Good computer skills (MS Office, including Outlook for email).

·       Strong experience in case management, GBV interventions, provision of different trainings including resilience and positive discipline programs.

·       Strong organizational skills.

·       Proven skills including planning and budget tracking capacities.
